Welcome to my new blog.  I have set this blog up so that I can document my upcoming trip to the Great West.  Having only read one blog before, You will have to bear with me.  I am planning a trip throughout the western states starting in October.  My original thought was to simply rent a large SUV and take off with fishing rods and shotguns to see some new sites and to revisit some old sights.  However, that is looking less like the plan.  Instead the trip may comprise some shorter trips with flights to central locations.
The main points of interest that I have not seen, but which I am planning to see are, the Hoover Dam, Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer Battlefield, and the Rosebud battle field.  Along the way I would like to stop and see, Jackson Hole and Sheridan, Wyoming.  Some old spots to visit possibly are Lee's Ferry, AZ, Flaming Gorge, UT, Missoula Mt., Grand Rhonde, Oregon.  Of course what trip through the area would be complete without tracing Lewis and Clark and General Crook's trails.
Finally, a stop in Pullman, WA and Salem, OR to see kids and grandkids.
I hope to learn how to add pictures to this blog as I go.  I will be taking a netbook to do the work.
Look for blog updates starting the beginning of October.  I intend to post every day, or as much as I can.
