Day two...From there to here

October 2, 2010                 Flaming Gorge Resort, Dutch John, UT

Another 12 hour day on the road, with a short stop in "What the !@#$@%&!/, Neveda (Wendover)  Black Jack and 1.5 hours later I am even $$$ and back on the road.  Now, if you have never made the drive from there to here you should understand once you get east of the Sierra's you are in what is known as "High Desert" which is poetic for desolate.

At least Lewis and Clark (that's for you Lara) had beautiful rivers, mountains and the Pacific Northwest.  Made me start thinking about the difference between my trip and theirs.  We are both discovering new parts of the west, but I have an insulated travel mug.  Life is good.  Sometimes just driving through this vast nothingness you begin to see things.  Strange things.  You begin to wonder where you are.

On the way to here, you pass through a small part of Wyoming.  Now I realize why Dick Cheney's heart is on the fritz.  Windmills in oil country! Damn that Obama!!

The final descent into the gorge.

The lake behind the dam which is in front of the river "Green River" that I will be fishing tomorrow.  Lots of fish pictures tomorrow.
